10 Photo Shoot-Worthy Locations in NYC

As you all know—and as is ingrained in my name—I love using my platform to show off whatever city I’m in. In that way, my photos are not just about the looks. They’re forever and always about the backdrop too! I’ve been in NYC a little over 4 months now, and I can absolutely say I’ve found some top locations that are photo shoot-worthy. I’m sharing them with you all today. I frequent some of these locations more than others and can usually count on getting amazing shots there. Keep reading to see more about where I love to shoot and why.

SUBWAY STATIONS

I especially enjoy shooting feminine and elevated looks here. The juxtaposition between the grit and elegance just does it for me. I don’t want my pictures too gritty, though. So if I am shooting at a subway station, I choose one I know is tended to…regularly. I can usually count on the 6 train at 68th and Lex and the Q train at 86th and 2nd.

MADISON AVENUE

Just an all around stunning (and clean!) area. If I shoot on Madison, I am usually in the East 70s. The homes are fabulous and the vibe so posh and pristine.

CENTRAL PARK

There are so many beautiful locales to shoot within Central Park itself. I haven’t even scratched the surface. Bow Bridge (pictured here) is definitely worth a visit. There is also beautiful European architecture, manmade lakes, plenty of green space with skyline views, and a boat house. I will definitely be going back to capture more.

TRIBECA

It’s giving modern and edgy at the same time. I love the buildings in this area. This part of the city absolutely offers great architectural backdrops.

STAPLE STREET SKYBRIDGE

Right in the heart of Tribeca, this one has been on my list for years. So glad to have finally shot there. The skybridge is right in a tucked away alley and really does offer your photos great depth and dimension.

SOHO

I have shot here more than I’ve shot anywhere else. I love SoHo so much because every corner provides something new. You can shoot down here over and over and always look like you’re somewhere different. There is also a good amount of colorful walls if that’s your thing. Y’all know I’m all about it.

GRAMERCY PARK

Another shi shi foo foo neighborhood, y’all. This park has a key to it. A. KEY. Only neighborhood residents have keys to get in. So while I won’t be shooting inside the actual park, I definitely shoot all up and through and around it. Such elegant homes and more posh backdrops here.

HARLEM

Y’all already know. The brownstones here are bar none. No other area has brownstones with this type of class and character. I love shooting in front of them and on their stoops. So far, the neighbors haven’t minded.

TOP OF THE ROCK

I actually shot here back in 2018. I just love these images offering sky high vantage points of the city. These are some of my favorite photos to date and I will definitely be going back to get more.

TAXI CAB

One word: ICONIC. Gotta gotta have that classic taxi cab shot. I’ve never met a cab driver who isn’t amenable to a quick photo. I’ve even stopped traffic before. Ha! Give them a tip and they will almost always willingly oblige.

There you have it! Some of my favorite places to shoot in the city. Definitely bookmark this post for your next trip or your next shoot. I’m on another inpatient rotation, so it’s back to work I go. Y’all have an incredible weekend!

xx,
