New Year Portrait.

New Year Portrait.

Happy New Year! For quite some time, it’s been my goal for my family and I to take a beautiful, quality family portrait. I come from a pretty big family and I knew it would not be an easy feat, but I felt like the portrait was well worth accomplishing. Prior to now, we have never had a professional full family photo. After a year of consideration, I knew exactly how I wanted the photo to look: urban, but posh. sophisticated, but lively. genuine and real. I also knew that I wanted something different, not the run of the mill Sears group photo with the staged snowflakes in the background. This past Christmas season, my entire family was home, so I deemed it as my window of opportunity. With our antique furniture, fancy attire, and blushing smiles in tow, we headed over to Ponce City Market!

When we got started, the sun was setting. Our friend Tina, photographer extraordinaire, reassured me that the lighting would be just fine. Still, I felt like we were racing against the sun. A few days later, I saw the photos and realized the dusky backdrop was the perfect complement to the slate and plum color scheme of our clothing. We could not have planned it better! Coordinating dates, times, location, and attire for 7 people was not without its challenges, but I couldn’t be happier with how the pictures turned out. Not everyone in my family loves taking photos as much as I do, but they were all extremely pleased which makes me even happier that we finally had these photos done. Many thanks to our friend Tina for making this happen!

xoxo – Me!
